摘要：The classical limit theory, such as the central limit theorem, plays a fun- damental role in probability and applications. The normalizing coefficient is usually deterministic and various limit theorems rely on different assumptions of the population. However in applications, the normalizing coefficient is typically non-deterministic or is self-normalized. In this talk we shall review the development of self-normalized limit theory and reveal the secret why self-normalization can tame a wild population.
